Basic Weekly and Biweekly Services

Sun City Festival Home Watch will inspect the interior of your home for common problems we have seen in the past. We also look for a few uncommon problems that occasionally happen. This is a typical list, but we will customize a list for your home's specific needs.

Basic Interior

Overall interior condition - Is it like it was, last time through the property?

Any new smells?

Check Bathrooms and sinks -

Flush Toilets, check for bowl leaks, operate all faucets, showers & baths.

Check window locks and glass integrity.

Check smoke detectors, entry doors/Locks to home and/or garage.

Check refrigerator and freezer for proper operation.

Check exposed plumbing areas for leaks.

Check for pest and/or insect infiltration.

Check water heater settings Check water heater for leaks

Check HVAC

Basic Exterior

Check for storm damage.

Check for forced entry or broken windows or doors.

Check doors, including garage

Pickup, properly discard unwanted newspapers, leaflets, door hangers.

Exterior lighting - including porch, garage, landscape, motion detector.

Check appearance of equipment such as air conditioning, pool equipment

Concierge Services

Sometimes you need the home prepared before you arrive. We can help! Just let us know what you need, and we will work to get it done for you. We typically charge an hourly fee for coordinating services, most services will be provided by our staff or associates. We can custom tailor services based on your needs Some of the more common requests are:

Season Opening Services

Your home will be open and ready for your arrival. Including but not limited to stocking groceries and necessities, hot water heater on, fire alarm batteries, setting and/or programming A/C, organizing cleaners, window cleaning, landscapers, outdoor patio furniture cleaning, backyard cleaning, etc.

Season Closing Services

Your home will be closed and secured upon your departure. Including but not limited to covering patio furniture, fill buckets of water, putting screens on the windows, turning off hot water heater, placing trash and/or recyclables at curbside, verify hose bibs off, and perform complete interior and exterior checks.

Auto Package

Remove car cover (if applicable) and start car and run 1O minutes, move to prevent tire flat spots, visually check for leaks, re-cover car (if applicable).

Check battery trickle-charger, if applicable. Includes golf cart, motorcycle, RV's, quads, etc.

We dodged a bullet today, thanks to Steve and Debbie of SCF Homewatch.

A neighbor called to tell us that water was running out from beneath our garage door. Holy smoke! We called Homewatch. The call was returned within minutes. Steve and Debbie went straight to the house. They found that the main outdoor water valve they had turned off (routinely) on their last visit had been turned back on (probably by landscapers, and suddenly), and that an aged feeder hose connection under the garage sink had failed. They fixed the problem pronto. Still standing in the garage, Steve outlines his plan to repair the feeder hose and also to patch the drywall behind the sink that was soaked by the leak. Debbie says she will get some sort of zip-tie lock she knows about for the outdoor valve so this won't happen again. News to us, but obviously we say hell yes.

If you are a snowbird, and this suggests to you that it would be a good idea to hire Steve and Debbie to keep an eye on your house while you are gone, we agree.
